The stuff of classic horror and terror tales. PULP THRILLERS - A unique journey into a golden era of raw sensation-packed fiction. This is a path that leads directly to sordid nightmares.  Shortly after the beginning of the 20th century pulp magazines became immensely popular. They were printed on inexpensive newsprint or rough pulp-wood paper. The most notorious titles were known as the shudder pulps or weird menace. Their shocking stories usually depicted many fantasy thrills of carnal desire and violence. A beautiful woman would ultimately find herself at the mercy of a maniac executioner to face a most horrifying doom. The fiend would always be a specialist in torture and cruelty and the girl was often barely dressed when about to breathe her last. |
